鹭客社宣言
一直以来，包括厦泉漳在内的闽南文化区域，甚至在更为广阔的土地上，原生人文环境遭到严重的破坏，同时急剧恶化的还有人类赖以生存的自然环境。此情此景，亟需一个表达意见、凝聚共识的民间文化社群，为乡土发现、乡土佑护、乡土再造提供妥切理性的思路与策略，并进行有效的建设与鼓呼。以“守望乡土、再造人文”为使命的鹭客社（LOOKERS）文化社群便在这种期待中应命而生。鹭客社（LOOKERS）将以厦门为轴心，以公益为宗旨，以自然和人文为契入点，首倡“鹭客.LOOKER”，也就是“乡土守望者”的新生活方式和新生存理念，打造众生兼爱的尘世故乡。
作为乡土守望者，鹭客（LOOKER)是一种开放性的概念，任何人只要认同鹭客（LOOKER)的理念，便是鹭客。鹭客们信奉“人生所行之处皆为故乡”，既是乡土守望者，也是世界探索者，既是自然热爱者，也是人文创造者。无论是在阅读中，还是在旅途上，他们都充满好奇，满怀激情。作为理性与感性双双发达的人群，他们表现出喜欢思考，崇尚性灵，兼爱众生的特点。他们对未来、对远方有良善的想法，但口号绝对是“活在当下，关注身旁”。他们不乏宏大理想，但更多的是具体而微的微理想。所谓的微理想就是近距离理想、小型化理想、可实现理想。鹭客便是这样的人，他们具有强烈的人文使命感，酷爱自然与人文，用一颗永远不老的心逡巡在熟悉或陌生的大地，他们的身影出没在深闾古巷，出现在乡野阡陌，出现在野寺荒峦，出现在江际水畔，他们到达他们所能到达的地方，他们守望、再造他们所挥之不去的尘世故乡。
我们可以宣布：从现在开始，有一种人叫鹭客，有一种生活叫鹭客。
Declaration of the Lookers’ Society
For a long time, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and neighboring southern Fujian have been seeing damage to their culture and environment, with people’s livelihood and their children’s future badly affected. There is a growing need for a cultural society where like-minded people can communicate and exchange their views, can look after themselves, and can promote rebuilding of their land and their humanity. Hence the formation of Lookers’ Society. This is not an organization: if you agree with us, you are a Looker.
Based in Xiamen, Lookers are people who believe in “hometown is where you are”. They look out for their home, hometown, and beyond. They love nature, and adore humanity. Either reading or on the road, they are always curious and are always motivated. As people keen in sense and sensibility, they have a high regard for intellect, natural temperament, and all things human. For the future and the outside world, they only have good will, and their motto remains “live the present and look after your surroundings”. They are not in lack of grand ideals, but they are more concerned with minor or micro ideals that came their path. Micro ideals are those that are within the grasp, miniaturized, and readily attainable. Lookers are such persons with a deep sense of humanity, with a genuine love for nature and humanity, who peruse their land, being there before or not, with a forever-young heart. They made their presence everywhere: in the beaten path of historical sites, in the fields or in the wild. They made it to water’s end or the river bend. They went as far as their legs would carry them. Looking, and looking on, doing their best to promote, protect and salvage their earthly home.
Herein we can proclaim that from now on, there are people called Lookers, and there is life of a Looker’s life.
